Low-Income Housing

We provide safe and affordable housing to low-income families and individuals with disabilities through Azteca Apartments, ensuring they never pay more than 30% of their income on rent.

  • Location: 200 Zaragoza Street, Laredo, Texas
  • Units: 50 apartments (1, 2, and 3 bedrooms)
  • Eligibility: Must meet HUD income limits and pass background checks

Financial Literacy

Azteca Economic Development is committed to helping area residents educate themselves on personal finance. We have worked alongside other organizations since the early 2000s to promote financial education and asset building. In recent years, we have provided the community with workshops on specialized topics such as:

  • Retirement
  • Child support requirements
  • Sales tax
  • Credit management
  • Checking and savings accounts
  • Identity theft
  • Homebuyer education
  • Small business development
  • ITIN requirements
  • Income tax reports

We also provide one-on-one services to clients to facilitate individualized education on topics such as:

  • Credit reports
  • Taxes
  • ITINs

Free Tax Preparation

As part of the Laredo VITA Program, we offer free tax preparation services to help eligible individuals and families maximize their refunds and tax credits.

Immigration Services

Azteca Economic Development is officially recognized and authorized by the U.S. Department of Justice to provide immigration services to the community.

Our organization has two full-time DOJ-accredited representatives who work directly with our community to offer immigration benefits and support in all immigration-related matters.

All our immigration services are designed to benefit low- and middle-income individuals, but they are available to everyone, as our fees are based on a percentage of the average local immigration costs. Many of our services qualify for fee waivers or discounts, depending on the client’s income.
